Monday I made it back to the gym! I am not lifting yet but just cardio. I believe that you need protein with either activity. I am also not a fan of drinking a protein supplement before/after, protein should come from food not a supplement. But…… there is always a but right. I do like Vega’s Protein & Greens and I have used it in a couple of recipes. This one is my Favorite thus far (I wrote fart…hahahaha. my brain needs a break). Give them a try!
Ingredients 11 balls
1/2 cup oats
1 tablespoons flax (ground or whole)
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1 tablespoon Hemp Seeds
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1/2 tablespoon vanilla
2 tablespoons agave, maple syrup, or honey
1 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons vegan chocolate chips
Step 1: Blend the dry ingredients (leave out vanilla, sweetener, oil and chips) together until they are powdery like a flour.
Step 2: In a bowl, stir together the blended ingredients and the remaining ingredients
Step 3: If you have a cookie dough scoop or a Tablespoon measuring spoon to form your balls. Roll them and place them on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet
Step 4: Place in the fridge or freeze to set for 30 minutes. after this store for 1 week in the fridge in are tight container or in the freezer for longer storage*
Step 5: Enjoy as just a snack or pre/post-workout
Note: If Stored in the freezer take out and place in the fridge the day before or leave out room temp for 15 minutes.
